If you are a nature lover and drawn to a boho aesthetic, then Alabaster Acres in Caledon is the place for you to have the ultimate glamping experience.
I first stumbled on Alabaster Acres a couple years ago while looking into glamping in the Toronto surrounding area. I was drawn to the idea of being able to experience many aspects of camping (sleeping in a tent, camp fire etc) without worrying about being cold at night. The few times I have camped, the sleeping component was miserable for me as I get super cold easily and I couldn’t sleep a wink as I was frozen. Thus, glamorous camping was something I was keen to experience.
With Toronto still being in lockdown, and travels not being a likely option for this year again, I decided to splurge and book a couple nights (2 night minimum booking) in the Copper Retreat for my birthday a few weeks ago. I invited one of my close friends with me making it a certain highlight of 2021.
Aimee, the owner of the beautiful property in Caledon, thought of every little detail, giving visitors total pinterest vibes. The property consists of a farm with 3 glamping tents on site, and they also run workshops, events and other experiences. For more information, please refer to their website below:
Inside the Copper Retreat tent is a king size bed, wood stove with firewood, mini fridge, cutlery and kitchen ware, living room, throws, lamps and candles.
As part of the reservation, the host provides continental breakfast of fresh pastries, fruit, yogurt, coffee and tea. It is definitely relaxing sitting on the patio of the tent and sipping a hot cup of tea!
Our tent also included a camp fire pit, a BBQ, and a hammock. And laced with warm white string lights, it added to a magical ambiance.
The shared accomodations includes an outdoor shower, an outdoor tub (the main reason I booked this particular glamping site), and an outdoor library. We got lucky that we didn’t see other guests using the space so we had the tub all to ourselves.
I highly recommend Alabaster Acres for a staycation, a romantic get away or a girls’ trip. It books up quickly so plan ahead.
