Tea Latte Recipes

For the winter season, tea lattes are a great alternative to a cafe latte or a hot chocolate. Here are some  quick recipes you can make at home. You can spice it up with some additional equipment, although not necessary.

A handheld frother gives your lattes that barista touch. I have included a link for what one looks like:

Charcoal Latte

Ingredients (serves 1):

  • 1 cup Oat Milk
  • 1 tablespoon powdered charcoal

 

Directions:

  • Pour 1 cup of oat milk into a pot to boil. If you have a steamer, then you can use that as an alternative
  • Measure 1 tablespoon charcoal powder into a mug
  • Pour steamed milk into the same mug
  • If you have a matcha whisk, use it to help break down the clumps of charcoal and to the desired consistency
  • Option to use the handheld frother to give it that extra top layered froth
  • Enjoy

 

Butterfly Pea Tea Latte

Ingredients (serves 1):

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon butterfly pea flower in a tea sachet or infuser

Directions:

  • Pour 1 cup of almond milk into a pot to boil. If you have a steamer, then you can use that as an alternative to steam the milk.
  • Pour only 1/2 cup of the steamed milk into a mug
  • Measure out 1 tbsp. butterfly pea flower in a tea sachet or infuser into a second mug
  • Pour the other 1/2 cup of steamed milk into the mug with butterfly pea flower
  • Once the milk has turned blue, slowly pour into the first mug of steam milk to create the ombre layered look
  • Option to use the handheld frother to give it that extra top layered froth
  • Enjoy

 

Hibiscus Coconut Latte

Ingredients (serves 1):

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon hibiscus rose loose leaves in a tea sachet or infuser

 

Directions:

  • Pour 1 cup of coconut milk into a pot to boil. If you have a steamer, then you can use that as an alternative to steam the milk.
  • Pour only 1/2 cup of the steamed milk into a mug
  • Measure 1 tbsp. hibiscus rose loose leaves in a tea sachet or infuser into a second mug
  • Pour the other 1/2 cup of steamed milk into the mug with the hibiscus rose
  • Once the milk has turned pink, slowly pour into the first mug of steam milk to create the ombre layered look
  • Option to use the handheld frother to give it that extra top layered froth
  • Enjoy

 

Gingerbread Latte

Ingredients (serves 2-3):

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 bags English breakfast tea
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon pure molasses
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions:

  • In a pot, bring the water and English breakfast tea bags to a boil
  • Add the spices, molasses and vanilla extract and stir until all the ingredients are dissolved
  • Remove the tea bags and then add the almond milk, while allowing the mixture to simmer
  • Pour into a mug
  • Enjoy

 

Chaider Tea

Ingredients (serves 1):

  • 1/2 cup Apple Cider (not apple cider vinegar!)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 Chai Tea bag
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Directions:

  • In a pot, bring all the ingredients including the tea bag to a boil
  • Remove the tea bags and let the mixture simmer
  • Pour into a mug
  • Add cinnamon stick
  • Enjoy

 

 

Golden Mylk Tumeric Latte

Ingredients (serves 1):

  • 1 cup almond Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground tumeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch black pepper (to help absorb the main active ingredient in tumeric- curcumin)
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Directions:

  • Put in all the ingredients into a pot, and heat until the mixture is of smooth consistency
  • Pour into a mug
  • Option to use the handheld frother to give it that extra top layered froth
  • Enjoy

 

Chai Latte

Ingredients (serves 1):

  • 1 cup almond Milk
  • 1 tablespoon chai tea loose leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions:

  • Pour 1 cup of almond milk into a pot to boil. If you have a steamer, then you can use that as an alternative
  • Place 1 tbsp chai tea leaves into a tea sachet or infuser into a mug
  • Pour steamed milk into the same mug
  • Option to use the handheld frother to give it that extra top layered froth

  1. What can I say, you have certainly nailed all the great lattes. Tea is our business, so it was very exciting to read this blog and agree on so many points! I love great tea lattes and I have had a few of these and will be trying the others. Excellent post!
